Regional population distribution

The distribution of the population in the Stuttgart region shows that a ring of large district towns has formed around the city of Stuttgart. This ring reflects the polycentric structure of the region. Taken together, the surrounding medium-sized centers have roughly the same population as the city of Stuttgart itself.
