With first-rate cultural events and facilities, impressive museums and a varied landscape, the Stuttgart Region has lots to offer tourists. But competition for city trippers is tough, making good marketing absolutely vital. To rise to this challenge, Verband Region Stuttgart has a stake of around 32% of Regio Stuttgart Marketing und Tourismus GmbH. It spends approximately EUR 845,000 each year on regional tourism marketing. And with members of the Regional Assembly on the supervisory board, Verband Region Stuttgart provides hands-on input as well as funding. The Assembly also appoints a part-time general manager. This position is currently held by the Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH (WRS), Dr. Walter Rogg.
