The Stuttgart Region is in demand. The people who are already here want to stay - and the economic situation and demographic change mean that further immigration is expected in the coming years. However, the demand for housing - affordable, well connected, suitable in size and quality - already exceeds the supply on the housing market. It is a major challenge to meet the demand for housing while at the same time preserving the open spaces that are so important for the cityscape and landscape, climate, ecology and recreation - in short, for quality of life. This task can only be mastered together. But what type of housing construction meets the actual need? High-density housing is an important approach here. And how do you get from the plan to the crane, i.e. how can living space that is secured by planning actually be realized?
