On 28.07.2021, the regional assembly decided to initiate a regional plan amendment procedure to define a regional commercial focus of around 20 hectares in the municipality of Mundelsheim (priority area "Focus for industry, commerce and service facilities"). In return, an approximately 7-hectare section of the "Ottmarsheimer Höhe" commercial focus area defined in the regional plan, which has not yet been implemented, is to be withdrawn and designated as a regional green corridor. The draft plan was adopted by the regional assembly on 29.03.2023.

On this basis, the participation procedure and public participation for this regional plan amendment was carried out in the period from 20.04.2023 to 26.07.2023. This procedure has now been completed. Comments on the draft plan could be submitted up to and including 26.07.2023. All those who submitted comments as part of the participation procedure will be informed of the outcome of the participation procedure and how their comments have been dealt with.

Based on the results of the participation procedure and consideration of all comments received, the regional assembly adopted the amendment to the regional plan as a statute on 17.04.2024. The amendment to the regional plan is currently being submitted to the Ministry of Regional Development and Housing for approval.
