Co-financing - a tool for innovation

Under the motto "Joining forces", the Verband Region Stuttgart is working together with the 179 municipalities in the region to create a liveable and economically efficient environment. In some areas, it is difficult for individual municipalities to implement important but cost-intensive projects. This is where the co-financing programs of the Verband Region Stuttgart come into play. The aim is to provide new impetus and promote sustainable ideas and initiatives in the region. Depending on the program, different stakeholders can submit project applications.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) offers great potential for maintaining economic performance and international competitiveness in the Stuttgart region, further expanding existing expertise and innovative capacity and thus maintaining and creating jobs.

Delivery Logistics

How can delivery processes and commercial transport be bundled and optimized in order to secure supplies to city centres and throughout the region?

Economy and Tourism

The region provides thematic impetus by co-financing regional model projects and through cooperation in the area of business and tourism promotion.

Commercial areas

With the co-financing program “Commercial areas”, the Verband Region Stuttgart therefore wants to accelerate the implementation of additional commercial areas.

RegioRadStuttgart

RegioRadStuttgart's “bike sharing” is an important mobility tool, especially for the so-called last mile. The rental system covers the entire region.

Hydrogen and fuel cells

The Stuttgart Region has drawn up a hydrogen strategy with the aim of ensuring that this energy source plays an important role in all industrial sectors. A co-financing program creates additional incentives.

Charging facilities for pedelecs

The installation of charging facilities for pedelecs, also known colloquially as e-bikes, along popular cycle routes increases the range and thus the reliability and attractiveness of cycling.

Regional initiatives for IBA'27 projects

In order to achieve the European roadmap of climate neutrality by 2050, the construction sector must also reduce its emissions to zero over the next two decades. Far-reaching and rapid measures are urgently needed - especially in new construction and building renovations.

Landscape park

The key driver for implementation is the co-financing of individual projects. To this end, the Verband Region Stuttgart is awarding 1.5 million euros annually as part of a competition in which all cities and municipalities in the region can participate with project ideas.
